The 2016 Grade 9 Girls Provincial Championships is sponsored by Basketball BC and hosted by Immaculata Regional High School.

Please bring your own balls, medical kit and a copy of your roster to each game at the provincials

Q: How do we know if we have qualified for Provincial Championships?
A: Automatic berths are given to schools who are crowned League Champions in their Athletic Associations. Remaining berths are allocated to "stronger" zones and awarded to teams who have registered and submitted their rosters and team pictures by the deadline of February 10th.
Q: Which school teams are eligible to participate?
A: Schools must have their team registered with BC School Sports at the Grade 9 Girls Basketball level to participate in the Provincials.
Q: Would Grade 9 players who have played Junior games be eligible?
A: Only players registered on a Grade 9 Girls Basketball team with BC School Sports are deemed eligible to participate in the Grade 9 Provincials, regardless of the number of Junior games they've played in. If players are in the 9th grade but are registered with BCSS at the Junior Girls level, they will not be eligible to participate. Players are also not eligible if they have played in any Junior or Senior playoff games.
Q: Which set of rules are we playing with?
A: We understand that every league and zone associations adhere to their own policies especially at the Bantam and Juvenile levels. The Basketball BC Grade 9 Girls Championships will use modified FIBA high school rules with four 8 min stop time quarters, 10 sec backcourt and a 30 sec shot clock. No restrictions on defense.
Q: Are all games played at one site?
A: No, all games will be played at 2 different sites: Immaculata and 1 other gym location at Dr Knox
Q: Do we have to stay at the host hotel?
A: Teams needing hotel accommodations will be required to stay at the host hotel as they are the official tournament hotel sponsor. Please encourage your parents and fans to stay at the host hotel. A $300 fine will be imposed to those that do not comply with this policy.
